States need to decide in advance, how they're going to react when federal forces try stuff like blocking the roads around a polling place with "immigration checkpoints".

These people *don't care* that they'll lose a lawsuit (paid for by the taxpayer) if they can irreversibly taint the election.

The problem is all the worst ones are already multi-millionaires and/or making money on insider trading.

So "no pay" just gives those people a weapon to use to extort less-wealthy representatives.

In particular, you need to rehearse exactly how to arrest anyone ruining the election.

They will set up "federally authorized immigration checkpoints" around polling places, and count on the state government to dither with conference calls to lawyers until it's too late.

I can imagine it might be handy if I'm replying mainly for other people to see, such as to some random commenter of the "post misinformation and block anything except enthusiastic agreement" type. 🤔

Then there's a chance corrections might be visible to others for a while.

Also, your yard is part of your private property ("curtilage") and they still require a *real* warrant to come in and grab somebody sitting in your porch or garden.

That said, there's an exception for if they were already arresting someone from public land and a chase happened.
