Interesting how the right has used “white woman” as a smear this week.
The MAGA regime is currently doubling down on its tactical stance of “we will kill women like dogs for merely displeasing us.”

leaking aside, it's crazy how we're just eliminating an entire sector of employment in real time
Holy cow: TRUMP LEAKED THIS MORNING'S PAYROLL NUMBERS.

At 8:20pm last night he posted a photo of a briefing he received from his CEA. It reveals market-moving numbers that were officially released at 8:30am this morning.

(Note: CEA receives the data—confidentially—on Thursday evening.)

at some point we're gonna have to have a real conversation about why we're still paying federal taxes to a regime that isn't using them to help anyone, but instead is using them to brutalize us

can confirm, can’t overstate how green it is rn
We usually visit my brother in Northern California in March, and after a little rain, it always feels like we're driving through the wallpaper for Windows XP.

the immense size of the USA alone does introduce certain challenges to the project of "asserting total authoritarian control as a deeply unpopular dictator, including over all the cities, which are populated and run by people who largely hate you"
one thing that makes the US so very different from 1930s Germany is that 1930s Germany had about twice the population (~60 mill) of Texas; it's very easy to imagine life in Texas becmoing like life in 1930s Germany (it's long been approaching that) but the US is a really fucking big place

stand for nothing, fall for anything etc etc

by all accounts, Burgum was a decent governor before joining this administration (so much so that REI endorsed him!)

wish he had just pulled a Kathleen Sgamma and withdrew before stepping into the role
When he was North Dakota's governor, Burgum frequently bragged about the state's wind industry and helped it grow so large that it wind now accounts for a third of the state's power. www.eenews.net/articles/bur...
Burgum celebrated wind power. Then Trump tapped him to kill it.
As governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum bragged about his state’s wind energy. He shed those views when he became Interior secretary.

She is aggressively trying to turn the wheel AWAY from the ICE agent. It is her very last action. They provoke her, surround her, then kill her in cold blood. I have barely slept since this happened and I don't think I'll ever stop being angry about this.
i have watched the shooter's video. it's going to make you way the fuck madder.
I have watched the video. I think you probably do not need to watch the video. it shows what you think it's gonna show in terms of lack of justification.

i absolutely agree, and what’s wild to me is the contrast with events like the original Bundy standoff (NV, not OR) and the lengths federal agents went to to PREVENT violence (standing down then retreating!)

far-right extremism is handled with kid gloves, liberals get executed in the streets
More people are going to be murdered by ICE. It’s clear. The tactics ensure it, ICE is getting more furious and being disagreed with or resisted in any way, the verminous administration supports them and has shown they will tell any lie to support ICE murdering people.

really enjoying this particular season of the LONG SHADOW podcast. it has been helpful for understanding the current moment.

what was once fringe (it’s true that Rs were *not* always like this) has completely inculcated our government.

and it’s not wrong to say that J6 was successful.

pretty telling that Vance only said “this administration” is behind you, not “this administration and the American people” are behind you

they know this shit is broadly unpopular and it scares them

Well, it's complicated because many of them were hired at agencies and not USDS itself, but you are right that many of them bounced out of DOGE within a year (I am tracking them all here dogetrack.info/people/)
