FYI this is a Mercator projection hate account and always will be, so you can unfollow if that offends you.
So I’m having a hysterectomy on Tuesday (after a lifetime of severe endometriosis and PMDD!). But my question here is if you were a nurse on a gynaecology surgical team and a patient came in wearing something made out of this material would you love it?

The best thing about the draft is seeing all the reaction videos of friends and family being super excited for their loved ones.

all the AI slop out there makes me want the most aggressively analog stories out there. like I want a one-of-a-kind homemade zine someone tucked into a baggie in the hollow of a tree, and I want that zine to include a shitty hand drawn map to a treasure it may or may not take 30 years to find

God Wes Streeting is a scab scabby weasel.

To be out there saying that doctors want to be on strike and shouldn’t be complaining about getting a 28% pay rise.

How much of a pay rise did you get last year, Wes?

Gotta say, I’m way less concerned about Farage saying racist stuff as a teenager and more concerned about the racist stuff Farage says and does now.

Maybe that’s just me.

So I didn’t say anything because maybe it’s silly but actually it’s not silly at all and is something I’m super proud of.

I graded to my yellow belt in karate at the start of the month.

Today is the day to repost this meme about International Men's Day, one of the most unironically wholesome memes that has ever been made.

Shoutout to all my fellow champs, chiefs, and kings. ✊

Now I’m not saying that Klimt’s Portrait of Elizabeth Lederer is not a beautiful painting but what I am saying is that $205 MILLION DOLLARS could do a whole lot of good for people who live in extreme poverty.

I am not having a good day today. I did something to my knee yesterday (I have a huge swollen lump in my knee ditch!) so tomorrow’s long run is probably out.

Also: had the best lecture of the term so far, got an R&R from a pretty prestigious journal, and I should be feeling great about my career.

Content: food, weight.

I must have said this before but something I find so personally liberating but systemically problematic is the fact I no longer worry about eating in public now I live in a much smaller body.

I used to avoid it so much, even if it was the only time I had to eat.

I am sick to the back teeth of teaching being seen as the lesser part of our job as academics.

Teaching isn't a consolation prize. Teaching isn't a punishment.

Yes this is about the Larry Summer's thing, but it's also about too many academics who treat teaching with distain.

It is one of the greatest shames of the world that the people who invented bread were not deified.

You can even turn on a reminder by going into Settings > Accessibility and then toggling on ‘Require alt-text before posting’.

Then you won’t forget to include it.
I'm seeing a lot of political posts with images & no alt-text. A reminder: alt-text makes your post accessible to blind & low-vision users, & as disabled people are some of those most regularly & viciously targeted by this administration, they deserve & need to be included & informed in activism.

Cruel. Callous. Cowardly.

The public are seeing this Labour government for exactly who they are.

We all have a responsibility to make them pay at the ballot box.

Reject the hate. Reject them.

This is not who we are. Let's make hope normal again.

Please forgive the absolute unhinged wankery that I’m about to dish up.

My absolute favourite food right night is the ProteinWorks Vegan Protein pancakes.

They are so good. Especially drenched in lemon juice.

I honestly can’t recommend them enough even if you aren’t vegan or a protein girlie.

People are probably calling Labour racist because Labour keep being racist. If they want to stop being called racist they should stop doing racist things.

Does anyone have or know of a decent reconstruction drawing of the stoa at Brauron? I know there's the isometric drawing from Bouras (that's the one Ekroth uses), but I want something a bit fuller in interpretation (and specifically showing the courtyard). #ClassicsBluesky
