So I’m having a hysterectomy on Tuesday (after a lifetime of severe endometriosis and PMDD!). But my question here is if you were a nurse on a gynaecology surgical team and a patient came in wearing something made out of this material would you love it?

Left part of a plaque decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 at the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments and was reassembled. It probably depicts a ceremonial procession. On the right a man dressed in chiton and himation turns his head towards two women who are following him. The women wear long, richly decorated, belted peplos. The first one is holding a wreath and a round object, most likely a fruit, while the second one a lotus flower and a branch. The scene is framed by a thin line and on the upper left corner, one of the two holes used for its suspension on a wall, tree or somewhere else survives.

I know that these are often automated but I am BEGGING universities to stop sending these stupid email to staff who you haven’t hired to do any research (but also, why haven’t you? Why can’t you put research time into temporary staff contracts? It’s almost like you don’t actually value us!)

As you know I’ve recently become a series editor and I want to tell you about this clause that we got put into our series contract, which affirms the rights of our authors to NOT have their books used for LLM training unless they explicitly include such a clause in their own contract.
No books in the series will be included in collective LLM licensing deals, unless the respective book authors wish to include contractual terms to the contrary.

For many years - really since the first time I realised I kind of liked running - I have wanted to run from Port Melbourne around the bay to where I grew up in Beaumaris.

Today I did it!

Turns out it’s pretty much a half marathon.
