Women spend our lives watching as men who harm us experience zero consequences. This is it on an extraordinary scale. We and they know they have impunity to beat, rape, gaslight and no one will say boo, but will doubt and diminish the women instead. It's the world we live in

Seeing lots of Imbolc "ceremonies" promoted (in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿) that have no reference to its Irish origins, heritage and context (similar with Bealtaine/bell-tayne and Samhain/sam-hayne... Lughnasa yet to catch the imagination here), feel like lobbing some traditional throwing stars 🙄😆
For the uninitiated, these are Irish Throwing Stars, an ancient weapon wielded by St. Brigid during the 1916 Rising, striking fear into the hearts of the British, and responsible for the eventual smiting of both Cromwell and Thatcher.

Arguably more significant than defections, internal party politics and the Beckhams…

In 2024 there were around 3,600 suspected cases of measles.

We need to challenge the nonsense spread by anti vaxxers and ensure children are protected.

I know I don't shut up about this but, fellow Irish people, if you see a racist sticker when you're out and about, then tear it off.
It takes ten seconds.
Even if you only manage to tear away a part of it, it shows that your neighborhood doesn't stand with the small, hateful people that put them up

Some positive news! Let's end child poverty in this country
Tax and benefit measures announced this Parliament so far benefit children the most.

This is due to the abolition of the two-child limit, the expansion of Free School Meals to children in families receiving UC in England, and the above-inflation increases to the UC standard allowance.

Had a pretty convincing scam call from a lady pretending to be from my mobile operator.

Said there was a Jan promotion of 20% off — did I want in?

And if so, I’d get a six digit code texted to me. Which immediately came (from my real operator’s SMS)…

They're so up against it, it's madness.

They’re collecting information about immigration status, citizenship, sexual orientation, whether you’re trans or non binary and physical or mental disabilities.
