The problem with this article is they asked too many lawyers and not enough historians.
As a historian, I'd say the legality of Trump's immunity and pardons depends on how he leaves office.
At 40 over 55 approval? He's immune.

also Kelly's like the old school kind of astronaut in the sense of "decorated hotshot combat pilot" type, which is what America most idealizes
Astronaut and firefighter are probably the last two jobs where 100% of the American population thinks "those guys are pretty cool."

I think very few people in modernity realize how a large amount of all human labor, ever, in the entire history of h. sapiens, was devoted to JUST keeping your immediate family clothed

Important to note you need a United States Attorney to do this and the Trump administration cannot legally appoint one.
Important to note that DOJ could re-file even though it's outside the statute of limitations. There's a savings statute that allows a new indictment after the SOL if an indictment w/in the SOL is dismissed "for any reason." I'm not sure if that applies where the first indictment was ultra vires.
