I know I prolly need to reschedule rheumatologist and take the cancel fee next time. But I *really* NEED to make it to CT scan and neurologist today. If I get enough shares to get 25 from 3 people, that will get it done. Please. 🙏💖
175 short for medical appointments. 75 would at least get my scan and neurologist done. TYSM for any tips or boosts!

I chaired an IRB for years, and ran a gigantic human research protections program even longer. The unethical nature of this proposed research is clear. It would not pass muster when examined under the Common Rule, Subpart D, or FDA regulations. Safety and efficacy have been established. Unethical.

Worse than Tuskegee because at least at the start of that trial there wasn't already an effective therapy. Hit's all the other marks though - single blind, on a vulnerable population, white investigators, black patients etc. Just a big ol racist boondoggle.

This is just Tuskegee levels of malfeasance. Like the example you would put on a public health ethics 101 training and then scrap it because it's too obvious.

This is the sort of contract that if you were entertaining signing it, your friends should smash through a window, do roll on the floor, leap up in a feral pounce and slap it out of your hands
Behold, if you will, the...astonishing...contract from Shadow Light Press. A rolling 10-year term...payment on profit (but only after costs are recouped)...appropriation of the author's universe if they can't continue the series...and more www.reddit.com/r/Progressio...

Not to mention a complete disassociation between healthcare and employment - which has massive positive impacts on the entire job market for both employers and employees at every scale (mom and pop businesses to huge corporations).

These stories have existed for the entire history of comics. Creators deserve a stake in characters they create (yes even legacy characters).

Also design work in comics is very often treated as an 'invisible' part of the page rate. That's $0 earned to create a new character from scratch -
Miles Morales co-creator Sara Pichelli says she does not get any royalties from the ‘Spider-Verse’ films, Insomniac games, or merch

President Trump has now pardoned 12 members of Congress convicted of crimes varying from tax evasion, campaign corruption, lying to the FBI, bribery, insider trading, obstruction, etc.

If Jeff Epstein were alive today, he’d be a free man in Trump’s America.

I keep thinking about LSAC data saying students with accommodations get higher scores.

The most obvious possibility to me is not "some students unfairly get accommodations"; it is, "people with wealth are more likely to get accommodations."

Trump's secret police vandalize houses and cars, assault citizens, fire potential lethal weapons for the hell of it, and assault children, often as sexual predators... and claim impunity for all of this. CATO proposes the fix. In the meantime it's essential to document all these crimes rigorously.

They had already filmed themselves r__ping a child while they planned on invading Haiti.

My other other conclusion is that "outfit recycling" should be the highest badge of honor in fashion and so we should STOP complimenting people for new clothes and START complimenting people who wear the same thing again.

This makes me so sad. Honestly I do not like the nerd community. What they stand for and what they tolerate. There should be no way this should ever happen. Black cosplayers, cosplay who you WANT! If that character inspires you then cosplay them! Don’t ever let anyone dim your shine!

This is a really interesting article about a horrifying distortion of sign language happening in the UK, and which its creators are now trying to export to other countries and their sign languages

Learn actual sign languages from Deaf people, not from hearing people making their own weird versions!

Trump’s “healthcare” plan will bankrupt and kill millions of Americans.

We can eliminate the private insurance industry, and save $650B per year with Medicare for All — which would cover everyone, save families money, and include dental, vision, hearing, prescriptions and longterm care.

I got a semi-random impulse to count how many RPGs I have.

physical copies: 310+ (I've probably missed a few that are in my child's room right now)

digital copies that are not duplicates of physical: 228+ (I'm sure I have a few not in my main folder)

This does not count my own unpublished ones.

I got momentarily curious about how many RPGs I own. A quick survey of my bookshelves counts 310 I have physical copies of (counting different editions separately). I'm probably missing a few, since my child's asleep, so I didn't check their shelves to see what they have in their room right now.

RPGs I have run this year (that aren't my own design):

AD&D2e
Astonishing Super Heroes
Dungeon Crawl Classics
One Ring 2e
Pigeons' Eleven
Pipedream
