The Home Office can get screwed

Talk to my mum’s Nigerian carers about the promises they were given, the tax/NI/Council Tax they pay & how they now feel about their life here
Home Office Ministers state publicly, on the record, that they are deliberately making life worse for older people and people with disabilities who depend on care services, but it's worth it because it reduces net migration.

New Home Office impact assessment finds that cutting skilled and social care visas will cost the UK up to £10 billion with a central estimate of -£5.4 billion.

It would be good if this got even a fraction of the coverage devoted to the endless debate about boats, flags and Turkish barber shops

Over the last year, myths about the Motability scheme have spread online and in the right wing media. Now, some of it is government policy.

In today’s Guardian, I set about finding the facts and why the idea of “free cars for the disabled” has taken hold. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

This feels personal. My child is in school in Glasgow. She's likely recorded as not speaking English as first language, even though it is basically her first. Everybody I know is extremely impressed that she's fully bilingual (me, too). Now these people are coming after her. Coming after children.
2 in 3 of Nigel Farage’s current and former partners do not speak English as their first language.

Have been thinking about “immigration has been tearing this country apart.” Surely I’m not the only person to think that it isn’t true, but inflamed rhetoric about immigration by politicians is what is tearing this country apart and so statements like that only makes it worse.
