I'm still *somewhat* confident that the balkanized US media landscape combined with Trump's personality cult mean we probably won't truly see the bottom get knocked out, but this is wild. Like this is 'not even the most insane gerrymanders imaginable will save your asses in the midterms' shit.

I think they know they're getting creamed no matter what, they just think it'll stop with Chump. It won't.
Part of this is that it doesn't take a weatherman to tell you what way the wind's blowing, and part of this is that a big chunk of the rich folks on the right are starting to realize that a complete Trump flameout could truly bring about Woke 2: The Wokening.
Interesting that Politico is running a ton of "Trump and MAGA in trouble" pieces all of a sudden. 🤔

It is underrated how much of the fact that the Trump administration is constantly online and posting at all hours is because they have 0 ability to have recreation in Washington D.C. The city rightfully treats them like occupiers.

It is unfathomable that the USG lawyers would sign off on a no-survivors boat strike (no get of jail free card).

There's clear precedent dating back to World War II trial of Germans for that very act, which lawyers know well.

The only reason to go kill the survivors and lie about it is because you knew the boat wasn’t carrying drugs
5/ Administration explanation to Congress seems to be a bold-face falsehood: claiming double-tap strike was to clear debris, not to kill survivors.

"That explanation has prompted frustration among some members of Congress who say they believe the Pentagon was deceptive."

One of you just DMed me all "well, what else am I supposed to put on a slide?"

I’m very direct with mine. Black background, BIG white text. Bullet points. Sometimes images of where the relevant facts of a case took place or sometimes statistical figures.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Always important to bear in mind that Truth Social posts do not have the force of law and sometimes Trump just says he’s doing things and nothing actually happens.
Trump claims “any document” signed by Joe Biden is “hereby terminated.”

He calls out executive orders later but obviously “any document” would be much broader and include legislation.

(He can’t legally do that but, as always, we get to watch how far he can push this without repercussions)

Like, look at that tweet. Trump thinks he just says "Perjury!" and then Biden gets hauled off in cuffs. Where in all likelyhood it'd get NTB in a grand jury and that'd be that.

Basically all of Trump rn is rampant abuses (ICE) where they kind of can, and then running into the brick wall of criminal law otherwise.

Halligan and Pirro and such are getting no true billed non-stop and can't even bring criminal cases, much less actually try anyone. I tend to think this is forcing Trump to get crazier and crazier, because he can't understand how they're flailing so badly. courts just say "guilty" in his mind.

One of the things about the Trump administration is how badly they're face planting at the courts, and even this SCOTUS can only give them so much room. (And I distinctly think that they may start pushing back more as a way to avoid association.)
