Where did everyone first hear or learn about Trump as a person?

I only knew him from Bloom County cartoons in the compilation books my parents owned that were published before I was born.

I thought he was a fake person, just a character that existed in the comic to lampoon rich assholes.

Trump, heart eyes at Mamdani: There's a place for us...
Mamdani: We can agree that we both love New York and want it to be more affordable...
T: Somewhere a place for us...
M: ...and that New York is a place that needs lower cost food, and robust public transportation
Boy did democrats get lucky that the dumbest thing they’ve done in a long time was so completely blotted out by Trump acting like Maria from West Side Story

Let’s be clear.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social got Trump so charmed that Trump posted two photos of the two of them with Franklin Roosevelt’s portrait behind them AND one of just Mamdani and FDR’s portrait.

We had to briefly sidebar during a work call this week when it came up that the youngest hires didn’t know that Y2K was a technological/historical scare; they thought it was purely a term for a specific retro aesthetic.
My favorite piece of content today.

ever see the '73 belmont with secretariat? the one where he won by 31 lengths, where he was so vastly better than the field that calling it a "race" did not actually describe what happened? this is the charisma equivalent of that

Defense Contractor Lobbyists Are Trying To Kill Army ‘Right To Repair’ Reforms With A Bunch Of Lies And Bullshit
So we've noted repeatedly how there's a real push afoot to implement statewide "right to repair" laws that try to make it cheaper, easier, and environmentally friendlier for you to repair the technology you own. Unfortunately, while all fifty states have at least flirted with the idea, only Massachusetts, New York, Minnesota, Colorado, California, and Oregon, and Washington have actually passed laws.

Going to end on one of the most beautiful commercials ever made with the reminder and a call to remember the small things. They make a big difference to others.

Love all, help all.

genuinely hilarious that a Senator posted yesterday about how insider trading in Congress is bad and within 24 hours Congress got together to declare they will never accept socialism

the trick with hanging out with ppl with adhd is that you gotta make them laugh, they'll forget when you told it and they'll forget everything else but they'll remember the joke and they'll remember you for giving it to them
hard to maintain friendships with game developers because all these motherfuckers have ADHD and forget you exist when you're out of sight (it's me i'm these guys)

the key to overcoming imposter syndrome lies not in understanding that you're better than this but in accepting that everyone else is worse than this

We have to turn impostor syndrome into a pill and give it to every prominent person in this country. They should constantly be worrying that they're stupid

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Mark Kelly: "He's talked about sending troops into more cities, he's talked about invoking the Insurrection Act. You don't have to go too far back to his 1st administration when he went to his Sec Def & said, 'Can't we just shoot these protesters in the legs.' That is an example of an illegal order"
