Today the Government announced they will publish a new Trees Action Plan in 2026.

Here's what I think a Trees Action Plan needs to do to meet nature targets, restore rainforests and 'ghost woods', & support the natural regeneration of trees & scrub:

A new Trees Action Plan for England is in the works. Here’s what I think it should focus on
This is a post by Guy Shrubsole. Photo: Sticta sylvatica, a temperate rainforest lichen, taken by the author near Colliford Reservoir, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall. Recently I was contacted by DEFRA, who …

I have told this story before, but bringing it here. This street has footway parking on both sides which gives 1 metre of walking space beyond the lines. But, if drivers obey the markings, you can't get a car up the middle. Because residents kept getting tickets, I was asked to look at it. 1/n

Some farmers seem to claim that apex predators need control to protect farmland birds. This is a painful distortion of reality.

Were it true, farmland bird numbers would be growing exponentially in badger cull areas? No.

Habitat restoration must come first, esp. hedgerows + restrict pesticide use.

We are delighted to welcome Jonathan Gullis to Reform UK. I had to calm down Lee Anderson, who was concerned that he may no longer be the thickest twat in the party.

At a whopping £1.8 billion, Digital ID is costly to the taxpayer and our rights.

This divisive scheme wasn't on Labour’s manifesto. It’s the last thing this government should be embarking on during a cost of living crisis.

The whole thing needs to be binned.

UK digital ID plan gets a price tag at last – £1.8B
: OBR says the scheme will cost £600M a year with no identified savings

If your doctor decided you needed an MRI (indicating concern about something serious) and you claim that you didn't ask why or what part of your body he wanted to look at, you are:

1. Really stupid; or

2. Dangerously detached from reality; or

4. Lying; or

4. All three. 🎯

Wood-burning stoves are likely to face tighter restrictions in England under new pollution targets set as part of an updated environmental plan released by ministers on Monday.

Donald Trump is taking money away from our hospitals & GP surgeries, and Nigel Farage is cheering him on.

We can't let Trump get away with extortion like this, Parliament must be given a chance to vote this deal down.

Yes why was it always someone else's fault from 2010 to 2024? When did any Tory ever take responsibility for anything? Like 23000 avoidable deaths from Covid, like smashing 8% off GDP with Brexit. Like Truss crashing the economy.
What is she even talking about? The OBR is, by design, not under the control of Rachel Reeves.

Would this be the same OBR that they refused to use when Liz broke the economy?

What was it they said then?
''The Government outsourcing fiscal policy to the @OBR_UK was a massive mistake''
“institutional bureaucracy”

But know they are their staunchest defenders? These people are ridiculous

Watched BBC 6 o clock news. Just a completely unserious broadcast. Chris Mason, acting like a children's entertainer, giving a prolonged impenetrable editorial. Not a whiff of informative content about the Budget or what it means for the country. Just playschool blah blah bollocks.

So what is it that Tice has on Gullis that has made him join the Deform party or maybe it’s the links with Russia he likes or Putin or just that Gullis can’t stand Kemi Badenoch anymore?
Oh wow, that's awkward. #Gullis
