The USA is no longer a reliable ally for Europe. We must build a European defence capability which is totally independent of the Americans. It will cost European taxpayers to do so, but we must stop fooling ourselves that Trump would ever honour the NATO article 5 commitment.
Hegseth: "We must start by recognizing that returning to Ukraine's pre-2014 borders is an unrealistic objective ... the US does not believe that NATO membership for Ukraine is a realistic outcome of a negotiated settlement."

If we want to preserve democracy then we must destroy tax havens. They are parasites sucking wealth out of democracies, freeing the super-rich from taxation while imposing ever greater burdens on ordinary folk – burdens which will ultimately break democracy.

Lets explain how escalating/manufacturing a military confrontation with Venezuela gives the administration a legal “hook” to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, one of the oldest national-security laws still on the books. This statute allows a president to detain, restrict, or deport non-citizens

For a President who came to power by railing against globalisation, Trump and his family appear to be very good at globalising corruption.

When they describe Trump as "transactional" they really mean he's building a world fit only for autocrats and oligarchs.

Hegseth is saying they are allowed to kill people "affiliated" with designated terrorist organizations" but they are not required (and currently refuse) to offer any evidence, let alone proof. Logically, this means they consider themselves allowed to kill anyone anywhere whenever they want

Instead of the Treasury gaining £350m / week as the Quitlings promised, it's losing about 5 times that amount in lost taxes due to the Brexit damage to GDP.

Time for rejoining to be put on the table and for the Brexit (mis)leaders to be ignored politically and then properly investigated.

Trump always telegraphs what he's going to do ahead of time. Note the phrase 'We should win the midterm elections if....'. This is the beginning of the groundwork for claiming fraud.

No, a US President, including Donald Trump, cannot unilaterally "give" Ukraine to Vladimir Putin. Ukraine is a sovereign nation, and only the Ukrainian government and its people can decide their future, including any territorial concessions

US getting ready to attack Venezuela.

The rhetoric of curbing narcotics trade is just an excuse as Trump plans to pardon convicted drugs tsars at home.

It is about vanity, control of oil/gas and minerals and new Imperialism.

It's above the level of a war crime. It is murder.
'“This rises to the level of a war crime if it’s true,” said Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va.'

Except that it cannot be a war crime, because the US was not at war with Venezuala.

It's a straightforward crime, both in US domestic law (murder) as well as international law. And not just killing the survivors.

The lectureer, Rutger Bregman said that President Trump was the “most openly corrupt president in American history”. This was removed before his lecture was broadcast on Tuesday.

Because, of course, what he said was true.
