It turns out Ikea New Zealand are having delivery issues. Impossible to get through on the phone and a message via Facebook got the answer to wait 3 or 4 days. Some very unhappy punters in the Ikea fan groups.

Forgive my drum banging, but teenagers don't lose everything to romance scams and crypto rug-pulls, nor are they the ones getting radicalised against public figures in FB groups and occupying parliament. The kids are better suited to modern life on the t'internet than their elders.
In other bait news, Catherine Wedd's "Social Media (Age-Restricted Users) Bill" defines a "social media platform" thusly, which is some bullshit because surely it would categorise SMS as such.

I’m at Narita Airport and got approached by a self driving wheelchair that was quite persistent. It really didn’t understand that I didn’t want to use it.

i know this is too long a headline but it would be so cool to highlight that this school *followed* ministry advice which led to 900 close contacts of student with measles. Our government is not serious people.

Couldn't recall why I'd saved this picture, Image search reminds me it's a photograph taken by Tokugawa Yoshinobu (the last Tokugawa shogun) of his cat, Han. It is perhaps Japan's oldest pet cat photo.
