A “trigger warning” for comedy has always existed. Poster design, say, acts as a social tag. You won’t go to a show that isn’t *for* you.

That’s a good old WMC tradition. “Too BLUE for TV”. I mean, surely PK gets that. Or is the martyrdom too tasty for all these guys?

Would love to hear a comic being asked “do you think you were phenomenally lucky to be able to build your reputation during a time that encouraged and rewarded creative freedom? And why do you think that stopped?” And NOT answer “humans outside my core audience started objecting to being bullied.”

Obscure YT of the day: Dennis Hopper & Michael J Pollard are Vietnam Vets flying around the country in a B-29 who jam right-wing broadcasts & try to sabotage a female presidential candidate in 1986's RIDERS OF THE STORM (aka THE AMERICAN WAY outside the U.S.).

Imagine the golden age of Australian television production that would have resulted from the ABC retaining merchandising right to Bluey instead of letting the BBC have them
Informal sample size of early Halloween events suggests somewhere been 20-30% of children in Los Angeles are Bluey this year

Noddy did a phone interview on 6 Music on Christmas Eve a few years ago, and said he'd just been for a wander round the market that day. They asked him if he got fed up of people's reactions when they saw him at Christmas and he said no, I love it. It's like I AM Christmas.

I always find interviews with Ernie absolutely fascinating. There's just a melancholy there that makes you just want to pat him on the back.
100 YEARS AGO TODAY: Ernie Wise is born. In 1992 he talked to Pebble Mill's Judi Spiers.

www.netflix.com/tudum/articl... So they've chickened out and made the villain not-Mengele, made Steve Guttenberg a girl, and the Liebermans are now much younger.
Still shooting in Spain rather than South America (the original used Portugal)
Hesitant. (I fucking love the film)

Seeing that Jinkx Monsoon is in London playing Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow, a role played on Broadway by Tracie 'Sharon Gaskell, Rita and Len's foster daughter in Coronation St' Bennett
What a weird transatlantic swap. Jinkx does have something about the Barbara Knox about her, mind.

Comedy Playhouse is a strand that simply wouldn’t exist now. But its existence - like other outlets denied to working writers where you can sell a single story rather than pitch a five season multi million quid piece of event television- would help make a career as a (comedy) writer feasible.

What I ADORE about The Smiths singles/LP artwork is that it's a mix of filtered stills of cult actors, political imagery or British pop culture icons.

Which means (without the need for AI), it's easy and fun to make your own.

This article really goes out of its way to be transphobic. Sophia Brooks is a girl.
