I think the thing that irritates me about Stranger Things is that it’s a couple of millennials staging reenactments of their childhoods in the mode of Stand by Me and The Goonies, which are boomer-made movies that are totally devoid of contemporary ideas or modes of speech in favor of nostalgic ones
