I am beyond enraged. My father died at 66 from pancreatic cancer. He never got to meet his daughter-in-law let alone his granddaughter. In the time since he died in 2008, pancreatic cancer has risen to be the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related deaths, up from 4th. These people are evil.

He is five years old. He has the same name as my now-adult son. They used him as bait for his father—who does not have a deportation order. His family did not know where he was for nearly 24 hours.

He is five. Years. Old. He probably says “I’m this many years old.” He has a cute hat.

Time and again, successful resistance to Trump’s authoritarianism comes from ordinary Americans putting their actual bodies on the line, when institutional leaders can’t even deign to use strong language.
Watch that. And then tell me how we replace Schumer with her

Trump is an imbecile, but here the issue isn’t that he can’t grasp concepts like independence. He’s always gotten his way through extortion, and he’s angry that Støre won’t strong arm the committee for him.
Norwegian PM Støre says Trump repeatedly raises—complains about, pleads for, and demands—the Nobel Peace Prize every time they meet. Støre gives same answer each time: decision is made independently by Norwegian Nobel Committee, with no role for Norwegian gov—a concept Trump appears unable to grasp.

Trump received a Nobel Peace Prize the same way he received a Purple Heart:

He wants the honors without the sacrifice. He prefers a model in which others do the work and then generously turn over their awards to him, because, as he put it, it’s “much easier.” www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...

Jacob Frey told ICE agents to get the fuck out of Minneapolis, a hugely popular viral moment, and the media has been browbeating him over it ever since. Trump flipped a guy off and told him fuck you and it’s barely acknowledged.

America is now at the heavily armed secret police doing warrantless door-to-door house raids in search of undesirable ethnicities and/or political dissenters stage. The difference from well known historical cases is down to scale.
A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

🚨🚨🚨 oh and 🔥
Trump’s attack on Fed already starting to backfire. Republican Sen. Tillis: “I will oppose the confirmation of any nominee for the Fed—including the upcoming Fed Chair vacancy—until this legal matter is fully resolved.”

I know everyone focused on Fed atm, but drove past former Iranian Embassy at 6pm on Mass Ave (across from British Embassy) and @dcfireems.bsky.social ladder truck was there w/Secret Service fiddling with the flag and flag pole. No idea whether they were taking flag down or what, but very odd.

Market futures aren't exactly happy. Imagine this will accelerate overnight and into the morning as people realize the magnitude of this interference.

🚨🚨🚨 Markets will show this tomorrow.
and not even just investors. many businesses and their groups — often loud about the things in Washington that displease them — have tread carefully under Trump even while acknowledging privately the risks of Fed meddling. this will test them, too.
This is going to force a lot of investors and powerful finance people to reckon with Trump in a way they have been desperately trying to avoid.

Do not share photos of protests with faces visible. Lock down your shit and make a plan.

This was a major initiative from the Biden White House, based in the idea of getting together all the countries with a stake in this crisis. They pressured China to stop precursor chemicals, hit hard at the capital funding for production in Mexico, and funded Narcan in the U.S. It apparently worked.
