I’ve said it before: I’m going to laugh like hell when Biden outlives Trump. Laugh like hell.

I…um…what?! This person understands that if we did it his way, no one could make coffee in the morning, much less build something as fantastically complex as a solar farm, yes?

It’s gonna be so funny when we build our way out of climate change.
"You can't build your way out of climate change any more than you can drill your way out"

Politifact says: false!!
Anti-solar NIMBYs aren't beating the accusations of being pretty dim bulbs. "Extracting from the sky" is a good one

My orders are presumed to be the enchiladas supreme platter with rice and beans.
My orders are presumed to be "waffles".
My orders are presumed to be awful.

Nuke the site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure, Charlie Brown.

The very idea of “too many books” is heresy of the highest order. 😜
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

We’ve put multiple living avatars of Oppositional Defiant Disorder in charge of our government. “The libs don’t like forever chemicals?” Fuck em! Into the water they go!”
Unreal: "The EPA is moving forward with approvals for pesticides containing 'forever chemicals' as an active ingredient... The agency also announced plans to relax a rule requiring companies to report products containing PFAS and has proposed weakening drinking water standards for the chemicals."

Also like… these people like to paint themselves as Serious Environmentalists. But if the climate crisis is as acute as they say it is, then Serious Environmentalism is going to have to abandon the model of conservation that says no green project can go forward if a single wasp nest is disturbed.
This Bolsonaro body-double son of a bitch said this about a god damn sheep ranch next to race tracks.
It is one of the richest biodiversity habitats in California, home to many endangered species. Admit it. You care more about jobs than the environment.

If you don't want to kick trans people out of bathrooms and sports to triangulate with 0.1% of voters in North Carolina OR demolish trans rights by electing Republicans because the Dems aren't sufficiently pro Palestine, you just might be a Liberal!

I’ve read it. I feel worse for having read it. The stain is indelible. I feel tainted. Like a Lovecraft protagonist who couldn’t resist reading the Necronomicon.
I'm not reading "it" and you can't make me and if you don't know what "it" is I'm not telling you because you're far better off the less you know.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Idk who needs to hear this, but don’t ever let anyone convince you the end of civilization is coming. I like my life, but all the parts I don’t like come from letting the internet convince me that Americans would be killing and eating each other by the time I was 35. And look how that turned out.1/?

The credulity/cynicism schema of the Serious Leftist fascinates me. Anyone who participates in mainstream politics is clearly suspect, only in it to enrich themselves, but call yourself a socialist and spout certain phrases, and you can straight up do crimes *to these people* and they'll defend you.

One of many things Star Trek was correct about.
I’m fascinated that Star Trek addressed the question with Barclay in the 90s. And the main solution was that society as a whole considered it out of line and sent him to therapy.

Here most comments are “I’m not surprised” which is sad and terrifying.
This is a nuts story. An AI chatbot and image platform left millions of images exposed. They show what people are actually using the AI for: taking random women's yearbook, graduation, and social media photos and making super realistic hardcore porn with them

I’m sure other people have more eloquent takes but it feels like midnight where I am. So I’ll just say Christ, what a stupid asshole. I miss Mayor Pete.
Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel:

"People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

That’s actually one of the wildest things about the Bush years, looking back on it. That administration was horrible and did horrible things here and abroad, but damned if both Al Qaeda and the Taliban didn’t objectively hate us for our freedoms. Especially those we afford to women and queer folks.
“they told us that we were fighting regressive people who oppressed women” yes, they were regressive people who oppressed women. thanks for asking

It annoys me when nominal support for LGBT rights is used instrumentally to push for clout or unrelated goals. But I *really* hate it when it’s treated as basically a cringe bourgeois affectation, whether it be the right, left, or center that’s pulling out that old canard.

Trans lives matter and I will never stop fighting for all trans to be able to live as their authentic selves.

(Norman Rockwell Free Speech Guy): The Rainbow B52 is infinitely preferable.
I hate this sort of meme.

“The only difference between the parties is whether the power to destroy human civilization rests in the hands of leaders who think gays, women, and black people should have their rights acknowledged.”

Even if true, how is Rainbow B-52 not infinitely preferable?

Shepard literally just has an AI hallucination
Replaying Mass Effect 1, one thing I’ve noticed is that to my current self, Udina doesn’t seem that unreasonable? “Let’s get this straight, Shepard. You linked with a 50,000 year old machine that was not remotely designed for human brains, had a weird dream about it, and now you want the council 1/2

What’s really dissonant, though, is the change in how Cerberus is portrayed from ME1 to ME2. ME1: “Shepard! These militant racists have strapped premature babies to their experimental eezo bombs to test their effect on human tissue! Get out there and stop them!” (1/2)
