The United States, at its best, is a rejection of the corrupt monarchies that believed the powerful had authority to control the identity and belief of those beneath them.

Trying to think of videogames with legit great stories (without gigantic "except XYX" disclaimers). Not just great characters, not just good stories, but *great* stories start to finish.
There are maybe a dozen or so I think would qualify?

GoT discourse does make me appreciate ME3 a bit more. Sure some of the narrative changes over the whole series were questionable but the general story and characters and feel is pretty much perfect up until the last fifteen minutes.
