Been working on a level-up system like this, where instead of a menu you get an overlay and time-slow. Now it just needs polish, icons and most importantly; more upgrades.

Testing out pre-rendered backgrounds. Not sure if this is the way to go, but it was pretty simple to build out this small level.

There's definitely drawbacks, but it does look pretty.

Found my first use case for #Godot 4.5's stencil buffer: applying a filter while the camera is underwater!
Basically just have a box that writes to the stencil, a box that clears the stencil for everything not underwater, and a full-screen rect that only draws where the stencil is set.

The PCs can coordinate together to make the most out of their abilities - like knocking an enemy into the path of an ally's attack. In other situations, this might also include off ledges, or into other environmental hazards. Or each other.
