Being right about trump was boring, tedious, partisan, ideological. Being wrong about trump? Heterodox, contrarian, free thinking.

In my world, there's a certain reluctance to being merely, or in a knee-jerk way, a resist lib. That's understandable, even commendable. On the other hand, let's be clear: It's a hell of lot better, morally and intellectually and politically, to be a resist lib than a Vichy conservative.

kind of darkly funny that "gender studies" is the stereotypical "useless degree" because gender studies will help you understand a large and important chunk of the current psychosis in american life

WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

I remember when she landed! I’d just come from Pilates with Gwyneth and her pal, Rick Caruso, and was in my Tesla having an Erewhon smoothie when Bob at Disney called about a citywide party for Bari because that’s the intentional kindness that all 3.88 million Angelenos show to cast-out New Yorkers!
Bari Weiss’s move to L.A. was essential to her reinvention. If New Yorkers had cast her out under a hail of jeers, Angelenos embraced Weiss for a variety of reasons, not least because, in this industry town, journalists are exotic animals.
Bari Weiss In Wonderland
Her exile in Hollywood paved the way for a triumphant return to New York.

this fact is the definitive judgment on kirk's life
ultimately, no one even grieved Charlie Kirk. he was just another thing for the worst people on earth to get outraged over. and when the outrage of real events wasn't enough, they invented new ones.

not even his wife saw his death as anything other than an opportunity.
my read is they were trying to whip up the usual frenzy, but then the effort got blown up by Candace Owens saying The Jews did it
