We made it! The future never actually felt like the future until now! Hoverboards? Na. We got tech bros worth $1,000,000,000,000 destabilising nation-states, fascism 2.0, genocides, soulless AIs, and waking up to check if the planet has shrivelled and died yet.

Deliberately, or through ignorance this misrepresents generative AI entirely. Impressive? Sure! But it isn't conscious, doesn't have feelings. You press enter, letters are fed into a machine & math predicts the next letter in the sequence & sometimes boring software does stuff as well. THAT. IS. IT.

Patient, sobbing: But Doctor, I AM Pagliacci!
ChatGPT: Apologies. I didn't realise when recommending Pagliacci's epic show to cure your depression that you were the genius himself. I'm impressed! With regards to your initial question, I can recommend seeing the Great Clown Pagliacci.

What an absolute dereliction of responsibility. A simulacrum of democracy to distract and placate the great unwashed.
Introducing the first AI prototype of a British MP🇬🇧🤖

When constituent and local business owner, Jeremy Smith, approached me with this idea, I was very excited to work with him. The AI revolution is happening and we must embrace it to see how it can be useful, in all sectors.

As a maker of exceptionally sexless art, I just wanna say publicly that any attempt at censorship of the arts is to be resisted. NSFW art is always an easy target, but it’s also always only the first step in a chain, not to mention the artistic value of this stuff in its own right.

Had a few evenings to play The Alters. Enjoying it immensely, but maximum anxiety when ever I read "The sun is getting closer" 😬

Hot as hell, and pollen everywhere. Got the fan + purifier combo doing a night shift. Can't go within 10cm of Jay without us both bursting into flames. Stupid summer.

I get asked a lot during talks at universities how to integrate LLMs into the classroom "ethically". And the more I think about it, the more I'm affirmed the answer is "don't".

This piece by @sonjadrimmer.bsky.social and Christopher Nygren on AI provides some excellent arguments as to why.

Every major UK newspaper - left, right, broadsheet, tabloid - is running a front page campaign against copyright carveouts for AI training.

I can't remember the last time any political cause had such broad support, let alone one so anti-big tech and so economically consequential.

What value is there in a pledge you can just remove from your website? That's not a pledge, it's a tag line.

On TNG era Star Treks, they did stars outside windows using folded-up bits of foil/mylar glued onto black duvetyne, reflecting a bright light. I always thought it'd be fun to simulate it in CG for that very specific vibe and.. it kinda works.
