The basics of off-roading in a Furniture Store (in an #indiegame)

One way to motivate yourself to implement UI is to turn it into something stupid that motivates you (in my case emulating the look and interactions of a car console UI)

#indiedev is waking up one morning with a silly idea and then not resting until you make it real! 🤪 #indiegame #GodotEngine

Sometimes the physics engine just decides to add some drama to the experience 🤣

Playtests often involve watching someone struggle with your game, but occasionally this also happens 🤓

Watching a playtester play the game on a discord call and they discovered a fun new mission type 🤓

Have you ever wondered how time is spent in game development? I've made a handy pie chart to illustrate it.

My groundbreaking theory on why some #indiegame Genres work so well on Steam

In retrospect this is yet another situation where angles should be avoided in the first place, but I did get it working nicely eventually

Fellow #Godot gamedevs, would this be worth taking the time to make into a simple addon? I find it more useful than the built-in wireframe-style collider view option... but I'm also hesitant to make and support an addon, I got GAMES to MAKE 🤓

Full send of the revised lava mission after one round of playtesting
(next playtest will likely be this weekend- join the discord if you want to help test!)

I made a debug view to see all the colliders as meshes, color coded by mass to help fine-tune the physics and spot issues quickly

I thought it was about a 4x4 in a Furniture Store, why am I adding a bouncy orb now? 🤔
January 27, 2026 at 3:18 PM
It’s OK it’s still worth it to put in the creative effort 🤓 #gamedev
January 26, 2026 at 3:26 PM
Come for the warehouse drifting.
Stay for the giant mystery orb 👀

It’s all part of the #gamedev process.

Who knew making a custom import script to organize the project better for production could be this exciting?
(So far using Godot for this kind of thing has been really easy to use and learn)

What it looks like when the center of mass is somewhat unrealistic 🤓
