Gamedev is comprised of an untold number of solutions like this. Looking in isolation it’s easy to take issue and think of “better” ways to do it, but that usually misunderstands the surrounding context and constraints.

✔️Convoluted ass optical illusion using a 3D camera

I've been doing weekly "gamedev improv" streams where I make a tiny warioware-like micro game based on chat suggestions using our micro-game making "engine". Tonight I made this in ~2.5 hrs:
