Grants between £1,000 and £20,000 will be awarded to create or enhance local community facilities anywhere in our constituency.

Applications close on the 27th October so there is limited time to submit your bids.

A total of £250,000 has been made available for community groups, schools and charities within five miles of the Transpennine Route. This means that every part of Leeds South West & Morley is eligible to apply, something I was able to confirm when I met with them at Morley station earlier this year.

The centre was absolutely packed and I’m pleased to see it continuing to do so well with Morley folk and beyond.

They are always accepting new members and have a range of fitness classes to suit everyone. And no, wearing a suit to use the equipment is not required. Discouraged even!

Got to say I’m feeling those hills now, especially that final climb up Queen Street, not sure my right knee will ever be the same. I will train next year… Thanks to Morley Town Cryer, Steven Holt, for seeing us off and to the Morley Mayor, Carol Edwards, for welcoming us at the finishing line.

Pleased to finish my first Morley 10K as a member of Morley Running Club, never forgetting, of course, the 10K mud run I did alongside Veterans In Need Together earlier this year.

I’m horrified by today's attack at a synagogue in Manchester.

The fact that this has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish religious calendar, is despicable.

My thoughts are with the Jewish community and the loved ones of all those affected.
