The cultural appropriation is not done subtly enough to be palatable for some.
i don’t think everyone needs to like every film but the way people refuse to even take the avatar series seriously in any capacity feels so performative in a way no other series has ever been treated, very odd to me

Right. 2020 permeating forever. They think everything we fought for was an aberration and not the point of it all. Still - after centuries of explaining. All cuz they had to see outcomes of racial reckonings and follow basic public health guidelines for a summer. Forever immature, feckless abusers.
Again, this is a broad coalition of people across the ideological spectrum whose top concern is making sure everyone rues and laments the “Woke Times” forever. It’s very much akin to the myths around “Negro misrule” in Reconstruction, which justified Jim Crow.
I will not link to it. I just want to reiterate that thousands of books have been banned by the right. And American Dirt sold millions of copies.
