How about some basic rules?
--All law enforcement officers should wear identification
--No law enforcement officers should be allowed masks
--All law enforcement officers should wear and use body cams
...oh and...
--All law enforcement officers should understand, respect & follow the law

Having now watched the footage and interview two of the members who were there, the amount of armed, masked federal agents surrounding three members of Congress and a mayor outside the ICE facility was totally unnecessary; the only possible reason for it was intentional escalation and intimidation.

As a German I will forever be grateful to all who fought for the liberation of Europe.

But as a historian I am looking at front pages today and must wonder: What is the point of remembering #VEDay 80 years on, what is the point of our thanks, when we are failing to protect the sacrifices made? 🧵

I dare you to read this piece in its entirety, and tell me how this makes anyone safer.
What it clearly does do is funnel hundreds of millions of our tax $$s to certain corps to kidnap, detain and degrade people for absurd reasons or none at all—in the name of the United States.
You ok with this?

Good morning BlueSky🦋!! Take a moment to remember the comforts of childhood.
Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, illustrated by Clement Hurd. What is it about this book that rests children's souls? The knitter, the socks & mittens drying, the child safely tucked in? 🧶

Dear poets, in case you’ve wondered, editors who reject your work may rejoice for you when they see you published in other places. It’s great to see people find compatible publication homes, the groove that fits their tongue.

Community Chorale concert. The tacky stage was decorated like a VFW Post in the late 1950s, cluttered with red poinsettias, a skinny green tree shaped like a torpedo, bright colored lights strung at the edge of the stage, a cacaphony of reassuring glitz: no elegance allowed.

First I read an article about the psychology of hoarding (trauma based, of course) and then turned to this delightful mini-memoir on imaginary spaces and I feel so anticipated here.

I’m really excited to see this doc, and selfishly as the mom of a queer kid who is already experiencing that hate firsthand, I am so, so grateful for community elders like Harper allowing themselves to be hyper-visible. It matters, and tiny queer kids are benefiting 💜
Will Ferrell has an enormous audience of straight dudes who need to hear this. Nothing but facts here about anti-trans bigotry:
