gender dysphoria is a useful concept to explain why facilitating transition is a legitimate state interest. if transition is merely an expression of bodily autonomy, why should the state devote resources to it over other expressions of bodily autonomy like tattoos or piercings?
(Also the trial measures blockers’ impact on “gender dysphoria,” which some of us have been saying for years is an inherently pathologising diagnosis easily manipulated to curtail bodily autonomy, but ☕️🐸)

at least for the united states, trans people are some sort of scapegoat and within that sense the cruelties they are subjected to are understandable. but what the fuck is it with the UK???
The “Pathways” trial is, IMO on more than one level, a thoroughly unethical piece of “research” to be carrying out on children, especially children who are part of a marginalised minority.
