Every time an authoritarian con-artist is held accountable, every time the mask slips in a courtroom, the spell weakens.

It takes pressure. It takes a public that doesn't flinch when the volume gets turned up. It takes faith - not in the perfection of institutions, but in their potential.

If you think it’ll stop at Columbia and Harvard, you’re wrong. If you think it won’t go beyond universities to infiltrate all schools, you’re wrong. If you think it won’t demand compliance at media, medical, and non-profit organizations, you’re wrong. Fascism is here. Fight it.

The chaos is the point. The cruelty is the point. The uncertainty is the point. These are all points, not objectives.

But the grift, the power, the taming of the people, the survival of the fittest, and the emergence and perpetuation of a new world order, these are the underlying objectives.

A short thread with some tips about Trump fatigue and the next few years:

1. Be prepared to pace yourself. Had too much for one day? Shut it down. Dig into work and hobbies. Find enjoyment.
I just… I’m too fucking OLD for another four years of Trump. You know?

I’m already so fucking tired.

I admit it, I had a crush on Boy George when I was, what, 13? I was chock full of hormones and he was really *pretty.* Between Boy George and Annie Lennox I was deeply confused and willing to go with it.
As a fellow Gen Xer it also makes me fume when other Gen Xers complain about "the LGBT agenda". Like, my dude, we grew up with Culture Club in heavy rotation on MTV.

there is a 24/7 right-wing propaganda apparatus that operates across multiple mediums and it designed to do exactly this: smother any kind of local, material concern with cultural war signifiers and cultivate a “political affiliation as team sport” ethos

One reason Bluesky (still) works for news is that there’s no obvious, pervasive culture of misinformation. If someone you trust reshares something on, say, Syria, the odds that it’s a chud trying to troll people remains relatively low.
