I love this vision for government! so far, the people of Minnesota are ensuring people's basic needs are being met. but one day, I hope we get the govt involved.
The point of having a government is to ensure people’s basic needs like housing and food are being met.
Governor Walz needs to stop passing the buck and declare a local state of emergency so we can implement an eviction moratorium to keep families in their homes.
This is clearly an emergency.

I should add that in this metaphor, 99% of the helpers/staff aren't paid to do this; it's not their actual job. They just saw the need and ran in to help as much as they could.

There was an abduction in front of my apartment this morning. Afterwards, a Hennepin County Sheriff car drove by. Around 10-15 of us screamed at them for help, seeking assistance with the abandoned, window-smashed car. Some ran after them. They continued driving. 😑

Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt needs to stop assisting ICE. It’s very clear that the sheriff’s department has been harassing, intimidating, arresting and coming out in force to assist ICE. They have been using force against neighbors who are working to protect our immigrant neighbors. 2/
