While I know how the industry goes, I'm kinda hoping Mina's a hit and the studio survives. I feel like it's all the more important these days to support indie games

We're hosting an emergency fundraiser to help fund a kidney procedure, this account is ran by someone in the US and is currently uninsured and we need help. Currently we're $13.2k away from meeting our goal

Thank you all for the support so far, we're getting close to avoid debt!

A contentious House hearing considering two major child online safety bills, KOSA and COPPA 2.0, signaled that the once-surging alliance of lawmakers pushing to bolster federal protections is splintering, reports Cristiano Lima-Strong.

This whole thread is important to read, but want to note that this is the new normal for passing fascism into law. It started when Biden signed the NDAA of 2024 into law and signaled that so long as a bill 'has to pass' you can shove in as much fascism as the Dems can justify.

No vote today and there's still a lot of disagreement on these bills, but I wouldn't be complacent.

Republicans say they're looking to "shoehorn" in KOSA, SCREEN or other restrictions into the must-pass defense bill coming up later this month.

Make noise. There's poison in the sausage.
On the possibility of ramming through #KOSA in the most ill-conceived manner possible:

What about all the children who are only alive because of the community they can build online?

They deserve the right to find people like them, and the legislation you support will make that impossible.

If you pass any restrictions, you will have blood on your hands.
I've heard too many heartbreaking stories of parents losing a child due to Big Tech’s unsafe platforms. Their voices demand action.

The House Republican version of the Kids Online Safety Act doesn’t do the job.
First Speaker (D) opposes KOSA, but asserts the right to protect kids from the internet.

Please don't pretend that all the opposition to KOSA has come from "Big Tech". We're not all Big Tech out here. The ACLU is not Big Tech.

This thread here is a nigh perfect reason why KOSA and age verification shouldn't pass the things said here is wild.

It's putting a Ice packet on your brain levels of mind numbing

It’s wild how there’s several different videos of several different establishment democrats giving public talks where they say “it’s a shame young people can see videos of war crimes online because they’re missing the context behind the war crimes”
Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

You should call your representatives TODAY about the House Committee meeting

mention the meeting, mention that you do not think the "child safety" bills in this package are actually addressing child safety. These bills are a trojan horse even in the best of times LET ALONE under this administration
