Citizens United wasn't and isn't about making sure corporations can say "happy pride month" it's about making sure they can spend unlimited amounts of money to elect people that make it so they never have to feel obligated to say it
If corporations don't have free speech rights, the government can punish Walmart for saying Happy Pride Month, right?
Yes citizens united was the right ruling. Corporations are a legal entity or in essence a legal person. That has been how we have viewed corporation since the legal definition of a corporation was etched into law.

Aparna is correct, 'gen ai' is intended to wipe out the entire human project and the humanities.

Worse, however, we do know exactly what kind of false 'history' they would want it to fake.
Historical "programming" is underfunded because of systemic attacks on the humanities and arts.
But also the attitude expressed right here, that tech/STEM can do it better.
Additionally, gAI is devastating higher ed/the humanities, including history, so no, its not the answer to historical films.
People will absolutely pan this because of the AI generated visuals. However, programming for historical projects is boring, poorly funded, and there is a very slim selection.

Perhaps now we'll get more?

Quick thread on how it is shocking the government has supressed this report, but it is equally shocking that anyone should be surprised by its contents.

they were always going to defend this. they absolutely fine with the idea of killing anyone who oppose their nazi agenda. they’ve been intentionally advertising to and recruiting far right maniacs in hopes they would escalate this far

If ICE shot a member of your family to death, the first thing they would say was that your family member was a domestic terrorist, and weirdos would be agreeing with them as their first reaction.

"Maduro is a brutal authoritarian dictator," I wisely intone, as the corrupt demented paedophile US President violating Constitutional Law while operating a gestapo and concentration camps illegally arrests a foreign leader on charges which read like they were written on a paper placemat in crayon.

Big congrats to the Nobel Committee for awarding the prize "for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy" just so she could immediately conspire with a foreign government to murder civilians on the high seas then invade and stage a coup.
I feel like the history of western imperialism is often like this, where there's an almost-plausible case for resource-grabbing, an almost plausible geopolitical explanation (first Caracas, then Havana), and a sort of liberal imperialist fig leaf to keep democrats from being too mad (the Nobel shit)

"International Rule of Law" tells us its actually okay to overthrow an elected world leader via military action and murder tens of thousands of children to protect a Jewish supremacist state, but China doing anything to better itself is actually illegal and evil.

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison
