On of the core principles of information literacy is the information is constructed and contextual. One problem with AI-generated summaries is that they obscure the constructedness and context of information, impeding information literacy development.
Part of what makes this different from previous iterations of misreading/misunderstanding is that these claims do not arrive to the students within specific sources and contexts, but rather appear as generalized un-sourced truisms.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

also, shoutout to yael. she did some serious gm'ing this season. reale and schupansky fit perfectly, then she went and got shaw, whose first ten games with the club included 2g/1a in a playoff run in which she was the difference in wins over kc and orlando.

Leaving academia/libraries has been a bit of a identity crisis but I'm getting to work on such cool things! And I can still bring data physicalization and creative data participation to my work.
I'm exhausted and have so much to learn but I'm really happy.
