Signing this @ukparliament.parliament.uk without a doubt!

My husband (with #Type1Diabetes) and I ( #asthma) paid £95 each for the #Covidvaccine - because we want to protect ourselves and others from this dreadful illness & its sequelae #LongCovid

It makes good sense to be #Covid vaccinated!
🤦COVID continues to exert a serious toll on national health. The virus can affect multiple organs.
🤷Meanwhile, the UK restricts access to COVID vaccines, despite their vital role in reducing severe illness and protecting public health.

You can’t tell if someone is disabled just by looking at them.

There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”.

You are not entitled to a person’s entire medical history just so you can decide whether to believe them or not.

People are not faking disability, most are trying to fake being well.

Fun fact: most of our memories are reconstructed on retrieval which makes episodic memory extra fallible as retrieving them the wrong way, through manipulation, context, or fallibility, can modify the memory going forward

Which is to say that we’re going to see more of this.
Wake up babe, a new way to be horrified by AI just dropped.

Talking to a librarian friend back home, she mentions a patron looking for help finding a book she liked as a kid. Super common request.

Respect Alice Wong’s call here:
“When I am in public spaces and see most people unmasked either because they think the virus is a hoax, that masking is virtue signaling & a sign of weakness, aren't thinking about it, or that they simply don’t care, I feel like an expendable burden not worth saving.”

Wearing a well-fitting mask on, say, public transit or in a book store is so much less of a burden than anyone like Alice—or many with less-visible disabilities—has to shoulder every day.

Think about the lives of others, & their families, then think, what’s more important—them, or your convenience?

Yes. If people remember one thing from my book I hope it's the name of Louise Webster, the co-discoverer of black holes.

She has been written out of the history of science.

She had one of the first successful liver transplants in Australia but sadly died in Sydney at 49.

Aside from the let-them-eat-cake of it all - it also looks cold and uncomfortable. Like bathing in a high-end mortuary.
