No surprise to any of us that have used the language. The team have spent so much time on creating an excellent developer experience. #Gleam makes programming enjoyable and rewarding. Well done @gleam.run!
2025 SO Developer Survey results are out and... wow! Gleam is the second most desired language. It's the first time we appeared in the survey and it's an unexpected result!
Being listed next to
@rust-lang.org @elixirlang.bsky.social & @ziglang.bsky.social makes us proud! Thanks, everyone who voted!

A mug should not bring me this much joy. Almost as much as programming in #gleam itself.

the way the far right values surface level cordiality over the substance of conversation is legitimately mind blowing to me

entitled pricks demanding to be respected because they made their reprehensible point with a "respectable tone"
I debated 20 far-far-far-right conservatives (racists? fascists?) on Jubilee's 'Surrounded.'

Here are some of the highlights of them unable to answer my basic questions or rebut the simplest of points. Not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Here's the full 'debate': www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S-W...

Really enjoying all the sites I can no longer access, because it's simpler to just geoblock the UK than try to comply with its absurd demands.

I'm glad they're doing it, because it sends a signal. I wish the larger sites would follow suit.

And yes, I know it's simple to bypass the blocks.

Gleam sponsorship has been slowly dropping over the last few months.
The project is free from influence by any corporation, but it means the team and I need your support! Just a few dollars makes a big difference, so please sponsor if you appreciate Gleam.

I'm on that part of the bell curve where I've stopped maintaining complicated config files for all the tools I use, and have instead adapted myself to the tool's defaults.

Has 'Default Driven Development' already been coined?

Decided we can't even do Twitter as a broadcast-only thing. Even auto posts via WP feel wrong now. Before Musk wrecked the place we were heading for 10,000 followers there. It's going to be a long time rebuilding here. If you like what we do in comics and can spread the word we'd so appreciate it!
