This is the part of deploying a satellite that you never hear about, and the European Space Agency let me have a go!

I spent two days at their Mission Control, and you won't believe how precisely they can position a satellite in space!
More Amazing Than the Launch‽ (at the European Space Agency!)
The European Space Agency invited me to their mission control centre in Germany to find out what it takes to be a Satellite Operations Engineer working on their new Earth observation satellite, BIOMASS. I have been printing these out and leaving them lying around on desks in the office. Nobody throws receipts away in offices just in case they are important.

I think today I had my first instance of somebody assuming some artwork was AI-generated because it had a .ai file extension.

That's the file extension Adobe Illustrator has used since 1987.

I went on a hunt for the new Piccadilly Line tube trains yesterday.

I'd seen that they were testing them around Acton Town on Saturday, so headed over there to see if I could see one, and I struck the jackpot! There was one waiting in a siding, then another came round the corner into the platform!

Reminder that Blue Monday isn't a real phenomenon, it was made up by the boyband Blue in 2002 to make me wanna call you in the middle of the night, make me wanna hold you 'til the morning light, make me wanna love, make me wanna fall, make me wanna surrender my soul

you know this guy is a FOR REAL photographer because he's telling the story of his brutal, unconditional arrest by federal goons and can't help but slip in a gear review
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I'm being good and have listed some stuff I no longer use on eBay, including several ADHD impulse purchases from years gone by.

Their prices aren't set in stone, there's a make offer button too.

It's too dark and too cold, I want to escape.

Let's see where the closest warm place is to the UK.

Mali and Mauritania are apparently the closest warm places.

I know nothing about them other than location, so let's do a quick gov travel safety check.

Ah.
