At the end of 1951, British movie mag Sight & Sound asked some of the great & the good what their favourite films of the year had been. It made me happy to read Agatha Christie, bless her, describe ‘The Lavender Hill Mob’ as “Excellent - Good acting, original plot, and very amusing”. (1/2)
