I say to the police that it's important to us, to have the bones back. That whoever they belonged to wanted to be buried, here, at this church. That even though time separates us, time is nothing to God, and they are still part of our community. I say we want to bring them home. To rebury them.

Where are the poppy patriots? Why are they completely silent on this grotesque insult to our armed forces and specifically the 2,000 UK service and civilian personnel who were injured and the 457 who died in Afghanistan?
imagine being the father or mother or son or daughter or sibling of one of those brave British troops who died in Afghanistan, and having to listen to this crass ignorance

A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

And the boys (who weren't born yet or were about *three*) who missed the *original* He-Man room, run by the fabulous Art Nadel, would have been HORRIFIED by how female-friendly/feminist the original writing team was. (I should know. My office was down the hall. I drew the first map of Eternia.) 😏
all the dudes bitching about "woke He-Man" should watch the woke He-Man we already got like three year ago, aka the animated Kevin Smith Netflix one about A) the crushing emotional toll that toxic masculinity takes on Adam and B) a squadron of absolutely jacked ladies dominating the whole plot

podcasts are relatively cheap to produce, easy to distribute, and you can engage with them while doing other tasks. now hear me out: what if they had enormous production overhead, required a Netflix subscription, and you had to look at them? now give me 500 million dollars

“different types of warrants”

Those which are valid, and those which are not.
JD Vance: "Nobody is talking about doing immigration enforcement without a warrant. We're talking about different types of warrants that exist in our system. Typically in the immigration system, those are handled by administrative law judges. So we're talking about getting warrants from them."

“We do not have any known linkage between flu vaccine and voice disorders like this,” says the medical director of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases about new claims from RFK, Jr.
RFK, Jr.’s assertion that his voice condition is linked to the flu shot is not based in science, experts say
The U.S. secretary of health and human services told USA Today that he believed the flu jab was a “potential culprit” for his spasmodic dysphonia that he could not “rule out”

This is the core capitalist element of the anti-vaxx movement. It is an intrinsically capitalist movement. Why provide a preventative vaccine for little-to-no profit when you can earn thousands when they get shingles and hundreds of thousands when they later develop Alzheimer's?

Breaking my never-retweet-Substack rule to point out that the for-profit system for American healthcare is based on treatment, and that preventative care, which could save incredible amounts of money for regular people, reduces profit opportunities for healthcare and insurance companies.
