Started rewatching Andor and god it's just so good straight away. Every character and relationship is beautifully sketched from their first appearance. I would watch a spin off of a spin off of a spin off about any of them.

Jenrick's sacking is a now or never moment for the Tories. Literally no point in continuing to do the "Farage, but with not apologising for ruining the country" schtick now and a golden opportunity to recover by just banging on about the economy.

Which of course means Badenoch will do the opposite.

This is great.

I am yet to find a better mantra in life than "everything in moderation, including moderation"
Been thinking a lot about how we are talking about health and society so I wrote down some thoughts about what happens when self-care replaces collective care, and why joy, connection, and shared spaces are as essential to a nation’s wellbeing as any diet

When “what’s good for us” stops meaning "us"
Wellness culture promises control and self-care — but what happens when it starts to hollow out our shared collective lives?

Is it really boring to say 69 Love Songs
If someone put $1,000,000 on the table and said you had to listen to one album on repeat for 48 hours straight…
what album are you risking your sanity for?

I am genuinely staggered by how bad Nandy has been at her job.

Given the discontent with Starmer, and Burnham, Rayner and Miliband's obvious hurdles, she had a huge opportunity to be the obvious soft left candidate in a leadership election.

Instead she's completely flubbed it.
In the time since a major platform started committing and enabling a strict liability offence for sexual crimes against children the Secretary for Culture, Media and Sport has posted on said platform three times, put out one instagram post and written an article for Wigan Today.

Honestly any MP with the stomach for a fight should just start calling Musk a paedophile to get this story in the news more
Elon Musk chatbot repeatedly making CSAM on demand should be one of the single biggest stories right now and it's effectively a collective shrug instead

Stranger Things finale was a quite good ending to a quite good show and that's... fine?

Content creators everywhere will be annoyed that it won't make it onto future best ever or worst ever finale lists

T-Rex, truly the Cleopatra of the dinosaur era
To put it in perspective, the time period between Stegosaurus and T Rex is about 33% longer than the time period between T Rex and today
I don’t know a lot.

But I know a lot about dinosaurs.

Now we all know dinosaurs lived for millions of years right?

But does you mind actually wrap around how long they dominated for?

Lets get a little perspective.

Did you know Allosaurus never saw flowers but T.rex did?

Painfully soft left take but it does feel like a problem that Labour has for the last decade been run by two different factions, who despise each other and think the other is everything wrong with the left, and neither was interested in cultivating support from both grassroots *and* MPs

I wonder, had they known they were eventually going to kill him off, whether they might not have started Craig's Bond with a reset in Casino Royale. It's the first time in the series that Bond explicitly can't be the same guy as in previous films and would have been a useful get-out to use now.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."
