we all got cowed into avoiding "virtue signaling" as if the public affirmation of socially agreed upon ethical principles was somehow cringey instead of a significant part of what a "society" even is. now all there's left is vice signaling, and it's reshaping society.

Schneider received 10 of the first-place votes. Vogt received 17. #BlueJays

Jesse Singal and Matt Yglesias notwithstanding, when was the last time a Democrat running for statewide office just threw the ball full at the wickets?
Senate Dems need to realize that they can’t bring four seamers to a dry, cracked pitch and expect to get wickets. The Republicans know the right line and length to bowl but Dems seem to be forever looking for a new ball that isn’t coming.

@adnana.bsky.social please share this post about Sydney Sweeney and Nate silver with our dear Cousin M
What's crazy about this take is how the Sydney Sweeney discourse flared up again on X last week but was completely ignored on here. His brain is cooked on reactionary discourse and thinks everyone has his warped conception of a view on it.

About seven years ago, someone from a major carmaker told me cars wouldn’t have steering wheels by 2022 so they were looking at new designs for the interior.

For the last 10 years, tech has been getting excited about solutions without a problem: crypto, the metaverse, NFTs and generative AI.
Optimus robots will just kinda follow criminals around and make sure they don't commit crimes again, so we can eliminate prisons.

These are all things Elon Musk is literally saying.
