I’m tired of being talked down to by people like this. They are doing the Elon Musk Mars In 2 Years bit but have tied the entire U.S. economy to a bespoke compliment generator. It’s time to start talking about these AI mutants like delusional babies.
“There will be more than enough jobs for the citizens of your nation, esp. those with vocational training,” said Karp. “I do think these trends really do make it hard to imagine why we should have large-scale immigration unless you have a very specialized skill.”

Palantir CEO Says AI to Make Large-Scale Immigration Obsolete
Artificial intelligence will displace so many jobs that it will eliminate the need for mass immigration, according to Palantir Technologies Inc. Chief Executive Officer Alex Karp.

You need to flip this on its head. If you advocate for violent resistance, or even carrying weapons, you are being selfish, placing your own desire for cathartic violence above the needs of your community. You are selling out the vast majority, who will become targets as a result of your actions.
A great thing to do if you’re an activist is throw other, braver activists under the bus and signal to the fascists that they’re fair game
What we’re doing is working. A few people - mostly angry young men who barely have ideological views, just a yearning to commit justified violence - seem almost upset that it’s working, because they wanted the chance to kill someone. The other 99.5% of us want to help our neighbors.

It might be useful to reframe this. Every person in this country should absolutely be ready for every form of voter suppression possible to be thrown at us this year.

People are responding negatively because it will require a class of people who seem to have no courage at all to develop some.
the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
Trump says a lot of deranged shit, but, per this Reuters article — and the threats of invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota this morning — he is very clearly exploring how to cancel the midterms.

It’s almost like politics is about conflict. Not being glib, I’ve just been shocked how true it is that we just can’t do politics without real conflict.
Man I am getting a completely different takeaway from this chart than everyone else. This is a sign that electoral politics isn’t really about policy or messaging, it’s about large groups of people reacting to events. People don’t hear arguments, they see things happening and change their stances.

The United States should not be a “predator force.” We are not brute animals scrabbling in the dirt for sustenance, we are human beings who can stand side by side with friends and allies.
Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. We've spilled more blood protecting Greenland than the Danes... we are the dominant predator force in the Western Hemisphere"

Much has been written about potential safety benefits of AVs. Given the lack of AV data transparency, I cannot speak to whether, or to what degree, AVs are safer than an average human driver. What I can say:

This is the wrong question.

And even if self-driving technology proves to be less dangerous, there are many better ways to improve traffic safety and prevent fatal crashes.
