My great-grandparents were murdered and have no known graves. They were murdered by people with the same kind of thinking that those occupying our highest offices explicitly avow, in an event that inspired Hitler. None of what is happening is an abstraction to my family.

It’s day 79 of the ICE occupation of MSP.

It’s a winter wonderland outside.

Today’s assignment is to shovel or snowblow for your impacted neighbors. It’s the neighborly Minnesotan thing to do!

Couple nights ago, I walked through my local Savers while listening to Charli xcx's Wuthering Heights album. Looking through shelves of used things was actually a better experience than the raggedy-ass movie

A base that's long made pragmatic decisions appears increasingly attracted to charismatic outsiders who promise to break from the party’s failures of the last decade. They see their party’s leaders as feckless and inept.

It’s the Democratic Tea Party, with a twist. trib.al/uFPDuLM

i don’t think dems will have the numbers they need to actually dismantle DHS or even just ICE after the midterms, *but* they can spend two years tearing into what’s likely to be a megaton of malfeasance and fraud at DHS and line it all up for a dem AG
corrupt, but also staggeringly incompetent and catastrophically understaffed when it comes to planning and administrative capacity
One of my firm beliefs about ICE's $79B budget is that the organization is so corrupt it'll grift and graft it's way through that pile of dough so fast it'll make heads spin.

They raided the jailed children to steal their letters.

The problem, in federal officials' minds, wasn't confining children in prison-camp conditions; it was that the children could tell the public about it.
“I don’t want to be in this place I want to go to my school.”

- 7 year old imprisoned by ICE for 70 days in a concentration camp in Texas.

Today, after @propublica.org published this story, the camp was raided to confiscate letters from the children.

If you're wondering how things are going in Minnesota: I dreamt last night I was in jail alongside four of my children, two of whom were babies.
The entire dream, I couldn't stop crying. I woke up exhausted.

In reality, I only have one child, who is grown. And I rarely remember my dreams.
