SPOILER ALERT: A democratic constitution is only as strong as the four pillars that support it: The Executive (Government), The Legislative (Congress/Senate), The Judiciary (Courts), the Free Press (Media). ... All of them have collapsed in America.

Straight up undiluted Nazi stuff
An extreme Kansas bill will invalidate the drivers license of every trans person in the state. It was passed alongside a particularly extreme bathroom bill, meaning that the implications of every trans Kansan losing legal ID overnight has largely been missed.
Kansas Bill Will Strip Driver’s Licenses from Every Trans Resident Who Changed Gender — Assigned
As Kansas passes a bathroom bill, another bill that will invalidate the driver’s license of every trans resident has been deemphasized in the coverage. Also, Trump’s Department of Education says San J...

No, it's being going on since before Brexit and it has continued since. Exceptionalism poisoned the UK's membership, causing it to miss the biggest integration projects, and led to Brexit.

Since then, it has been unable to behave as a normal country vis-à-vis Europe.

Yep. Reposted all of them!

I'd like to see the UK (or even better Scotland) back in the EU but the UK have to become serious cooperating & drop all the exceptionalism.

It'll need drastic change to the whole feudal set up of the UK.

I don't see it happening: even baby steps seem too much!

for those wondering whatever happened to David Frost - one of the many brexit negotiators for the UK - he's criticising the EU for sidestepping pro Russian actors to get seized russian assets to Ukraine.

I love those who bash this.

They can't decide on the tyrannous superstate vs ineffectual bureaucracy narrative.

If the EU is weak, geopolitically doomed, the euro is garbage this ‘breaking convention’ shouldn’t matter to them.

The EU standing up for itself the computer simply cannot compute.
Good work by Denmark, the Commission, Germany, France, others

"The Danish Presidency can inform that COREPER has agreed on a revised version of the Art. 122-proposal and approved the launch of a written procedure for formal Council decision by tomorrow around 5 pm," the Danish presidency announced
The EU has just made sure its biggest bargaining chip in the negotiations over Ukraine's future is no longer subject to national vetos. And that is even true independently of the fate of the reparations loan because now a qualified majority is required to unblock the funds again. Well done.

The laws don't need to be changed. As you've said above they're working for the European citizens and member states.

Brexit was done to Europe. The UK chose it collectively. You need to stop asking us to carry the load of your choice.

None of Linehan or "Liz" Connolly's charges are even tangentially related to the Online Safety Act. Hadn't even come into force in Connolly's case. Embarrassing. ~AA
