I led a letter with 159 Members of Congress to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem demanding accountability for ICE's indefensible actions resulting in the killing of a woman in South Minneapolis.

Minnesotans deserve answers. That must include an unbiased, thorough investigation.

No notes.

Thank you, Sheriff.
Philadelphia sheriff Rochelle Bilal:

“No law enforcement professional wears a mask…No law enforcement professional shoots at a moving vehicle.

“What Trump’s private army is doing…is not only against legal law, but moral law.”

Vows to arrest agents on site who commit crimes.

The thing is: Ross put himself near the front of the vehicle. The video shows that the vehicle had been in the same position before he moved towards the front. Evidently he is *not* sensitive about being near the path of a vehicle *at all*.
The ICE agent who shot & killed 37-year-old Renée Nicole Good in Minneapolis on Wednesday has been ID-ed as Jonathan David Ross.

You can read for yourself the incident in 2025 that led Vance to say of Ross, "He’s a little bit sensitive about somebody ramming him with an automobile.”

No pay wall.

This is one of my favourite Japanese prints, I love the atmosphere and sense of tranquillity. I was lucky enough to be able to visit Chionin Temple when I was last in Japan and I've included some photos in the reply below.

In the aftermath of yesterday's tragedy:

DHS lied. Trump lied. Noem lied.

Frey told the truth. Walz told the truth. Ellison told the truth.

The people in this community are the true silver lining amidst so much intentional pain and suffering being heaped upon our neighbors.
It has also become routine, unfortunately, for law enforcement to use passive voice and reflexively claim that an officer was acting in “self defense” after law enforcement shoots someone, regardless of the circumstances.

404 Media's latest: DHS Is Lying To You
DHS Is Lying To You About ICE Shooting a Woman
At least four videos show what really happened when ICE shot a woman in Minneapolis on Wednesday. DHS has established itself as an agency that cannot be trusted to live in or present reality.

AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

A big reason we have strong immigrant communities, especially in the Twin Cities, is because they were welcomed. Because people knew it makes our society better.

I mean, it sure ain’t the weather.

It’s not just our neighbors being attacked, it’s our way of life. Our ethos.
