I pick up my flute every day and at some point I know I’ll play this beautiful piece of music by Gluck. One day I’ll do it justice, but I’ll always listen to Jean Pierre Rampal, and to my friend who studied under Rampal in Paris. Music is how I keep sane in a mad world.

Okay, here we go.

Health & care staff are no longer allowed a Covid booster, but they're still expected to look after COVID+ patients.

NHS/govt is reneging on its duty of care. Staff will become unwell, and patients too will suffer.

You know what to do

I have to admit, it was the illustration work that made me stop and look. Credit to the artist. Because then I read “Few investments rival the return they (fossil fuel interests) have gotten from evangelicals.” Climate denial and US religion. Be afraid.
"Conservative groups, funded by fossil fuel magnates, spend $1B/yr interfering with public understanding of what is happening to our world. Few investments rival the return they've gotten from evangelicals."

An oldie but goodie makes the link between fossil fuels, climate denial, and U.S. religion.

The school days stories about Farage highlight how posh he is anx how this means he doesn't get punished.

If he had been a state school pupil his feet wouldn't have touched the floor on his way out the door.

What we're seeing with all this new data is that the Brexit damage is only getting worse as time goes on. Companies aren't "adjusting". They're either leaving, downscaling or going under. From manufacturing to services to culture to farming & fishing, the decline is snowballing rhe longer we're out.
New analysis by the politically neutral House of Commons library says that Brexit:

- cost the average Briton between £2,700 and £3,700

- lost the Treasury up to £90bn a year tax revenue.

Rachel Reeves budget options could have been very different!
