For over two decades, as anarchists have been sacrificed on the altar of these hilariously unconstitutional domestic "terrorism" charges, liberals have basically shrugged or at best furrowed their brows. Nothing was done to get the laws off the books. So yeah, Trump has legal means.

It's true that there's no magical legal status of "domestic terrorist", but there are a ton of laws that add "terrorism" nonsense to domestic crimes on the flimsiest grounds of any lawbreaking being "political."

"Conspiracy to jaywalk in furtherance of terrorism" is technically chargeable.
No law authorizes the president to designate something as a domestic terrorist org (only a foreign terrorist org), so it will be interesting to see what law he invokes here (if any).

“Domestic terrorism” is more of a concept than anything with a legal underpinning.
The thing with designating a group that doesn't actually exist as a terrorist organization is that they can then say anyone they want is a part of that group.

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

Far more dangerous than Trump, I think, is how quickly the last eight months have pulled back the curtain on America's elites and shown everyone how venal, how cowardly and how utterly mediocre the foundation of our society has been.

Well, I just listened to our Vice President tell Jesse Watters that biblical evil explains Kirk's death, that people who are overtaken by evil need to repent, that we all know that leftism and trans ideology caused this, and that Kirk's death will hopefully lead people to God

Like, you can say they're hypocrites I guess but it's much more accurate to say that they're people who've completely strangled their moral capacity; they simply do not have an ethical core or meaningful values, they just say whatever is convenient in the moment. Bad faith as a way of life.

Part of the problem with the idea of negotiating a modus vivendi with MAGA is that it's a movement driven entirely the political-entertainment industrial complex; what they want is to keep fighting you, forever, because that's the foundation of their business model.
