What evidence is there that uplands like this were once covered by temperate rainforest, and would return to such a state naturally but for sheep?

I have obtained a copy of the Flood Advisory issued by Met Éireann to local authorities today showing an orange level flood risk for many parts of East and South. I cannot see why it is not made public as I believe it is in the public interest to share it so I am sharing it.

This holly grew horizontally out of a rock face to escape browsing sheep and goats. Now that they're gone, it has also been able to extend straight up vertically.

We are constantly told by the media and authorities that these are both 'forest'.

One is a complex, diverse native ecosystem, full of life. The other is an industrial monoculture deadzone.

They could not be more different.

As greenway debate heats up nearby, Westport councillor invites people to experience upgraded Great Western Greenway which dispels myths
A Westport-based councillor has said that people should get out and experience the upgraded Great Western Greenway between Westport to Achill, which he says dispels myths and misinformation about the possible effects of the Westport to Louisburgh greenway on farming and nature. Cllr Peter Flynn (FG) highlighted that the last section of the Great Western Greenway at Atterish has now been resurfaced, making it easier and more attractive for people using bicycles, wheelchairs, and prams.

Frankenstein, the film from Guillermo del Toro and with Oscar Isaac, is a masterpiece and instant classic. It is a wonderful, horrible joy.

I have lived in Lithuania, India, and Ireland but Ireland has the most ineffective public transport of all the 3 despite being the most wealthy country.

There should be a war on cars if we want a more connected Ireland.

If you buy your sandwich for the day instead of making it at home you're costing yourself about £25 a week. £1300 a year. Over ten years that's £13000!

Which isn't anywhere near enough for a house deposit so people who bought their house in 1995 should stfu and let you yum up your sandwich.

That's 114 kids who will be back to school in a month. Darragh O'Brien's real role in the last Government was to normalise these updates, and I guess on that metric he was a success
