Call me a hypocrite whatever. I still do think less UB is needed. But I will admit some UB actually work well in MTG. LOTR, Avatar, W40k and the less goofy parts of Final Fantasy does.
But Dr Who, Sonic, TMNT, and all the Marvel stuff do not. Eyesores.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

I would love to get a box of the MTG Avatar set, but I'll be pissed if I cracked those ugly ass screenshot bonus sheet cards. It's some of the laziest "bonuses" I've seen from WOTC. I already thought the Final Fantasy ones looked like unrelated random screengrabs. Like a lazy intern's submission.
