The congresswoman told reporters she saw no detainees, despite ICE having processed some people in the Chicago area this weekend. The ICE acting director told Underwood the last time anyone stayed overnight at the facility was "a couple weeks ago." ICE officers told Underwood there were no detainees or staffers because they were "updating their systems and installing new security cameras." Underwood also staunchly warned that despite the departure of Border Patrol Cmdr. Gregory Bovino from Chicago, targeted immigration operations in the area are not over. She also warned that staffing for Chicago-area ICE facilities is expected to triple within months — stemming from a $150 billion to $170 billion infusion of funding over four years to DHS from President Donald Trump's 2025 tax bill. Underwood said they are also pursuing contracts for temporary office space, potentially trailers near the Broadview facility. Underwood's office said the Broadview center will reportedly be used as a training facility for newly hired deportation officers. "That money is being spent here," Underwood said. "The staff footprint in this facility and Downtown, the Downtown processing center is slated to probably triple by January. ... They are increasing immigration enforcement at that rapid rate. The American people need to see what's happening in our community and the conditions under which people are being kept."

When we host our tree trimming, we always have mulled apple cider, with rum and whiskey on the side for folks to spike as they see fit. And that was when Matt and I both were drinkers.

I do not drink because I have almost no tolerance for it anymore (one margarita is too much).

-premium juices like lychee and guava

After a federal judge ruled that hundreds of people abducted by ICE in northern Illinois are eligible to be released on bond or Alternatives to Detention. We expect this number to keep growing.
This bond is the only thing keeping these folks from freedom.

I fully do not understand people who enjoy shopping in TTRPGs. I can go shopping in real life. The mall is right there and I have the entire internet on my phone. Why would I also go shopping in a fictional world? That's a chore! I don't want chores, I want adventure and drama.

#BREAKING The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a short-term administrative stay of the order from U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Cummings that aimed to release as many as 615 people detained by ICE.

That means their release is on hold.

Greystar, the nation’s largest landlord, has reached a settlement with nine states for $7 million.

The states sued the property management giant for using rent-setting algorithms to drive up rents.

Greystar and other landlords used RealPage software in this illegal scheme.
