After 55 years, today is the last show. Every Sunday night as a young teen, I'd lay in bed and put my headphones on and make it to the Funny Five every week. Mondays sure would suck harder because of it, but hot damn was it worth it.

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

NEW: The Chicago Headline Club — the local chapter of the @spj-posts.bsky.social — has released a statement condemning ICE attacks on reporters.

In recent days, ICE has shot journalists in the face with pepper balls, assaulted journalists, and detained a reporter in Chicago.
Attacks and targeting of journalists by ICE must stop immediately! The Board of Directors of the Chicago Headline Club condemns the targeting of journalists, reporters and photographers covering protests outside the ICE facility in Broadview, Illinois by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and other federal agencies. The Headline Club is calling for ICE, Customs and Border Protection and others assigned to Operation Midway Blitz to stop this practice immediately. The Headline Club is aware of incidents of journalists being shot intentionally with bean bags, chemical munitions and at least one working journalist being taken into custody on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025. Journalists have a constitutionally-protected right to cover stories as afforded by the First Amendment. No federal or state agency should interfere with that right either by threats or action taken against working journalists. The Headline Club demands that Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons and Board Patrol Commander of Operations At Large Gregory Bovino take immediate action to ensure journalists are not targeted by officers of ICE or the Department of Homeland Security. Panel 2 Liam stands tall and puts his best foot forward. Liam: The idea of millions reading my work is scary but I'll do my best. Panel 3 Miss Horsehill stares blankly into space. It is just now occurring to her that she might have oversold the readership of the school paper. Behind her is a poster that says "Always Be Chewing" with a little cow saying "Don't Choke!". It's a good reminder to the children to make sure they properly chew their food before swallowing. Thank you cow, I will always remember you. Panel 4 Miss Horsehill is quick to calm Liam's nerves. Miss Horsehill: The paper only has a few dozen readers. Liam: Thank God! That's less scary.

Moldova was able to break from Putin's economic control due in part to USAID projects over a decade ago helping them come into compliance with EU wine regulations and opening up markets so they weren't at the whim of Russia. Imagine the good that might have been done had Musk not gone all chainsaw.

The pro-EU Party of Action & Solidarity has crushed the pro-Russia Patriotic Electoral Bloc in the Moldovan election.

It won 51 seats - an outright majority.

Moldova is now on a trajectory towards EU membership.

A very bad night for Putin, who targeted Moldova with a wave of election propaganda.

7th Cir. holds that Illinois' ban on carrying firearms on public transportation fits within our nation's history and tradition of firearm regulation—specifically, the centuries-old practice of limiting firearms in sensitive and crowded, confined places.

Third, public transit is owned and operated by the government. This is true of legislative assemblies, polling places, and courthouses.24 It was generally not true of schools during the Founding era. Regardless, we find this similarity between public transit and most of the other sensitive places to be relevant. The Supreme Court has recognized that “government buildings” have maintained a longstanding tradition of firearm restriction, although we do not read Bruen to necessarily situate all government buildings within the category of widely-accepted sensitive places. Bruen, 597 U.S. at 30 (quoting Heller, 554 U.S. at 626). Either way, the government’s power to regulate conduct and maintain order on its own property helps place laws like Section 65(a)(8) within our regulatory tradition. Remember that millions of Illinois residents put their faith in the government to safely take them where they need to go. And those residents have decided, through their elected representatives, that forbidding firearms is a method to achieve this goal. The public transit firearm restriction is different
