This is very cool -- a US map made of all the rivers in the country.
All of the Rivers
Perhaps inspired by All Streets, Ben Fry’s map of all the streets in the US, Nelson Minar built a US map out of all the rive

Me: Okay, I'm going to do an A2 milk test. I'm going to use A2 dairy in a pie because if it doesn't work, it'll still be worth it.
A: Maybe try a small amount of A2 first? And maybe don't start with cream? Or get tested and see if casein really *is* the issue?
M: Pie isn't worth it, Maman.
Me: PIE.

Why are these homelands “broken”? What broke them?

<insert Gandhi quote on Western Civilization>
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Did I plan today’s cooking schedule around football matches? Yes. Is this ridiculous? Also, yes. Do I care? Nope! Quite pleased with myself TBH.

Been baking and chopping and now it’s time for the too much soccer part of the holiday — conference league today! We always keep an eye out for the dad of one of M’s former school friends; he works for Lausanne-Sport 💙

We are having such a low-key Thanksgiving. I'm excited. Grand plans include cooking, eating, watching way too much soccer, volunteer work, reading, writing, embroidering, listening to music, and playing games. Except for volunteer outreach/fundraising tasks, I hope to stay off my laptop!

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Gender-affirming care saves lives
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Woke up with Titanium stuck in my head for about the 15th time this month. I don’t know why.

I’ve already told M “T’es sus” this morning after we disagreed about the use of passé composé vs. l’imparfait.

I feel like it’s going to be a day…

I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike the current Wellesley admin more after their strikebreaking tactics earlier this year, and yet I do. They've completely lost sight of the college's motto: Non Ministrari sed Ministrare -- not to be served, but to serve.

Faculty & students are still 💯
