It's a bit early for Christmas, but Jim Lea's acoustic version of the Slade hit is great. (Holder and Lea are a seriously under-rated songwriting duo).

Not understanding USA's Thanksgiving. Why would turkeys who'd done nothing to anyone need to be pardoned & not killed? and why would a politician be allowed to pardon anyone for anything anyway? Meanwhile it's an ordinary day in Canada (Thanksgiving was in October)

Just had to take David for a doctor's appointment at Place door d'Orleans shopping centre. The parking lot appears to be an audition site for "The Fast and the Furious".

I will believe in the end of identity politics when steel and lumber (28,000 jobs and 105,000 jobs respectively) stop getting bailouts, while higher education (310,000 jobs) collapses in front of our eyes because it's full of ivory tower elites

Yes, I agree. My job is now much more difficult with LLMs.

Universities are in crisis, and I don’t think it’s helpful to phrase that as “exiting the market”. They’re not mid-range shoe shops, these are educational pillars in society
Chief exec of OfS 'said the OfS believes there are 24 institutions at risk of exiting the market in the next 12 months, seven of which are large providers with more than 3,000 students. There are another 25 or so institutions of various sizes at risk over a two- to three-year period, she added.'
Seven ‘large providers’ at risk of going under in the next year
Skills minister says no higher education institutions are at imminent risk of collapse this year but OfS confirms more than 20 providers are being closely monitored
